FAQs
The pleats on Aerostar air filters function as a barrier to prevent mold spores, bacteria, pet dander, pollen, and dust from circulating in your home’s airspace. They’re engineered to trap harmful particulate matter due to their larger surface area which is bigger than regular fiberglass air filters. When air passes through the Aerostar air filter, it's forced through your HVAC system, filtering out harmful particles. A filter with a higher MERV rating will capture smaller particles and purify the air better. To ensure reliable air filtration in your home or business, use an Aerostar filter.Â
Compared to basic fiberglass air filters, Aerostar furnace filters have larger surface areas due to their pleated design, allowing them to trap more airborne particles like pet dander, mold spores, pollen, and dust. Aerostar furnace filters ensure a healthier environment, by removing these irritants and providing excellent filtration. Your system won’t have to work as hard to create healthy air and it will be more energy efficient. Aerostar filters are a valuable investment to ensure your home stays healthy.Â
Your Aerostar air filter should be replaced every 30 to 60 days to ensure your HVAC system continues working properly, so your home’s air quality isn’t compromised. If you or one of your family members are suffering from allergies, you may need to replace your Aerostar air filter more often than every 30 to 60 days, so inspect your air filter regularly. If it shows discoloration or looks dirty, you should immediately replace it. If not replaced, it could cause respiratory problems, the need for expensive repairs or HVAC system failure, and potentially higher utility bills.Â
MERV ratings (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) are used to evaluate the effectiveness of air filters when removing airborne irritants. They are rated on a scale of 1 to 16 to indicate the size and quantity of contaminants that are filtered. Higher ratings ranging from 13 to 16 trap more particles because they have better filtration but they can also restrict airflow and affect HVAC system performance. Using an air filter that’s the right size with the proper MERV rating for your HVAC system without restricting airflow is important so your system operates properly.Â
Measuring the air filter in your current HVAC system or reviewing your system manual to make sure you choose the right Aerostar HVAC filter for your system. Using the right size will ensure proper airflow. If you use the wrong size, it could cause debris to build up in your HVAC system, lead to an increase in energy usage, or potentially harm your HVAC system. Factory Direct Filters has a wide selection of Aerostar filters for you to pick from.Â
Before you install your Aerostar pleated air filter, turn your HVAC system off at the thermostat or the breaker. Access the filter slot, notice the direction the arrow is facing, and remove the old filter. Clean the slot and then insert the new Aerostar filter, matching the arrow to the direction it was previously facing, and make sure the filter fits snugly. Close the door panel and restore power to the HVAC system. Place the old filter in a plastic bag and dispose of it. If you still don’t know how to replace your air filter or where to find it, ask an experienced HVAC technician to help you.Â
Due to their MERV ratings. Aerostar pleated air filters can reduce the bothersome symptoms and triggers of allergies and asthma. Pleated air filters are better than basic fiberglass filters because they have a larger surface area, so they can trap more airborne particles. They can trap allergens that trigger symptoms like pet dander, pollen, mold spores, and dust mites. These filters create a healthier living space by reducing asthma flare-ups and respiratory symptoms. When you combine the use of Aerostar air filters with additional methods of managing allergy symptoms like consistent cleaning, and allergy-proof bedding, you can reduce the effects of irritants in your home.
Aerostar HVAC filters capture smoke, pet dander, and cooking odors that create unpleasant smells in your home. Activated carbon filters are porous, and absorb and neutralize odors, as well as VOCs (volatile organic compounds). Using Aerostar carbon filters will ensure your home smells better and circulates healthier air.Â
Aerostar pleated air filters are energy efficient. Replacing Aerostar filters regularly helps your HVAC system stay cleaner, improving its energy efficiency while keeping your air healthier.Â
